Words that can actually be drawn
Every word was chosen because it can be drawn quickly without letters: snowman, candy cane and sled on the easy cards, gingerbread house and ice skates on the medium cards, and scenes such as untangling lights or building a snowman on the hard cards. No names of film or cartoon characters, so nobody is stuck drawing something they have not seen.
Mix levels for family gatherings
Hand younger children the easy cards and give teenagers and adults the hard ones, so teams stay balanced. Each card is printed with its level in the corner, which makes it easy to sort the pile again after a game. Print on card stock if the cards will be handled by many people.
Quick rules for a party
Page four lists all seventy-two words and short rules: one drawer per team, a sixty-second timer, no letters or numbers in the drawing, and one point for each correct guess. The list also works for a whiteboard game in a classroom when the teacher reads words aloud instead of using cards.
